A 2019 American supernatural horror film, The Curse of La Llorona, also titled The Curse of the Weeping Woman in certain regions, was created by Michael Chaves in his first feature directorial effort. The screenplay was written by Mikki Daughtry and Tobias Iaconis, drawing from the Latin American legend of La Llorona. Starring Linda Cardellini, Raymond Cruz, and Patricia Velásquez, the story centers on a mother living in Los Angeles in 1973 who attempts to protect her children from a vengeful spirit aiming to take them. The production was handled by James Wan under his Atomic Monster company banner. Although not part of any official series, it exists within The Conjuring Universe framework.

The film made its debut at South by Southwest on March 15, 2019, followed by a U.S. theatrical release on April 19, 2019. Critics gave it mostly negative feedback, yet it unexpectedly performed well commercially, earning $123.1 million globally despite an initial budget of $9 million.
