Frozen 2, known as Frozen II, is a 2019 American animated musical fantasy film made by Walt Disney Animation Studios. This second installment in the Frozen series comes after the 2013 original and was directed by Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee. Lee wrote the screenplay, with story contributions from Marc Smith, Kristen Anderson-Lopez, and Robert Lopez. The movie features voice performances by Idina Menzel, Kristen Bell, Josh Gad, and Jonathan Groff. The narrative begins three years after the first film, where Anna and Elsa, along with Kristoff, Sven, and Olaf, journey into an enchanted forest to discover the source of Elsa's powers.

Production of Frozen 2 started in March 2015 following internal discussions about whether the sequel would measure up to the original. The movie adopted more advanced animation techniques than its predecessor and involved collaboration across multiple departments. The songwriters Anderson-Lopez and Lopez returned, while Christophe Beck composed the music once again. The film was translated into 46 languages and accompanied by a documentary titled Into the Unknown: Making Frozen 2.

Frozen 2 had its premiere in Hollywood, Los Angeles, on November 7, 2019, followed by a U.S. release on November 22. Critics offered generally positive feedback, though many felt it did not reach the same level as the first movie. Worldwide earnings exceeded $1.453billion, placing it as the third highest-grossing film of 2019, the tenth highest in history, and the second highest-grossing animated movie ever. It also held the record for the largest opening weekend for an animated film for three years. Frozen 2 was nominated for Best Original Song at the 92nd Academy Awards, along with many other awards. A follow-up film, Frozen 3, is planned for release in November 24, 2027.
