Action comedy

A 2019 American action comedy film, Charlie's Angels is the third entry in the Charlie's Angels series. It was written and directed by Elizabeth Banks, with a story by Evan Spiliotopoulos and David Auburn. The movie features Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott, and Ella Balinska as the new Angels who work for the Townsend Agency, a private detective firm. This film continues the legacy of the original television show created by Ivan Goff and Ben Roberts, and follows the 2000 and 2003 theatrical releases, Charlie's Angels and Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle respectively.

Sony Pictures initiated development in September 2015 after canceling the 2011 TV reboot and releasing Full Throttle. Months later, Elizabeth Banks joined the project as director, producer, and writer. Casting began in 2018, with Elizabeth Banks also confirmed to star. Principal photography started in September 2018 and took place in Germany and Turkey. The film's lead single, "Don't Call Me Angel", performed by Ariana Grande, Miley Cyrus, and Lana Del Rey, was released in September 2019. The soundtrack and score album followed on November 1 and 8.

The movie premiered in the United States on November 15, 2019 through Sony Pictures Releasing's Columbia Pictures label. Critics gave it mixed reviews and it underperformed at the box office during its opening weekend. It was listed by USA Today and Variety as one of the biggest 2019 box-office flops. Worldwide earnings reached $73.3 million, while the production budget was estimated between $48 and 55 million, with an advertising cost of approximately $50 million million.
