American Skin 2019
American Skin is a 2019 American drama film written and directed by Nate Parker. The movie features Parker, Omari Hardwick, Theo Rossi, Shane Paul McGhie, Milauna Jackson, and Beau Knapp in leading roles. It tells the story of a Marine veteran who holds a janitor job at a school to fund his son's private education. When he and his son are racially targeted and his son is killed by police, the officer responsible faces no charges. The grieving father decides to take justice into his own hands.
The film made its debut at the 76th Venice International Film Festival on September 1, 2019. It later opened in American theaters on January 15, 2021 through Vertical Entertainment.
