A 2024 American animated fantasy film, The Tiger's Apprentice is based on the 2003 novel by Laurence Yep. It was produced by Paramount Animation and Jane Startz Productions, and directed by Raman Hui with co-direction by Paul Watling and Yong Duk Jhun, who each made their debut directorial efforts here. The screenplay was written by David Magee and Christopher Yost. The voices of Brandon Soo Hoo, Henry Golding, Lucy Liu, Sandra Oh, and Michelle Yeoh are featured in the film.

Cartoon Network initially chose to develop a live-action/CG hybrid television movie adaptation of the novel during the late 2000s, but this project did not move forward. Paramount later obtained rights for an animated version in March 2019, with Carlos Baena set as director. Animation was handled by Mikros Animation. The majority of voice actors were announced between 2020 and 2022, after Golding’s casting in July 2020. Hui then took over direction from Baena in January 2022. Steve Jablonsky created the musical score.

The film was originally scheduled for release through Paramount Pictures, but instead premiered on Paramount+ on February 2, 2024. Delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic caused several postponements. It did receive a theatrical screening in Australia and New Zealand in April. Critics offered mixed reviews of the final product.
