A 2024 American biographical comedy-drama film, Saturday Night is directed by Jason Reitman and focuses on the evening of NBC's Saturday Night, later renamed Saturday Night Live, which aired on October 11, 1975. The movie features an ensemble cast portraying key figures from the show’s creation, with Gabriel LaBelle playing Lorne Michaels, the show's originator and producer. The ensemble includes Rachel Sennott, Cory Michael Smith, Ella Hunt, Dylan O'Brien, Emily Fairn, Matt Wood, Lamorne Morris, Kim Matula, Finn Wolfhard, Nicholas Braun, Cooper Hoffman, Andrew Barth Feldman, Nicholas Podany, Kaia Gerber, Robert Wuhl, Tommy Dewey, Catherine Curtin, Jon Batiste, Willem Dafoe, Paul Rust, Tracy Letts, Matthew Rhys, J. K. Simmons, Brad Garrett, and Josh Brener.

The film made its debut at the 51st Telluride Film Festival on August 31, 2024, followed by a limited release in the U.S. on September 27, 2024. It was then broadly released by Sony Pictures Releasing on October 11, marking the 49th anniversary of the show's debut. Critics responded positively, particularly praising LaBelle’s performance, which earned him a Best Actor nomination at the 82nd Golden Globe Awards. Despite this recognition, Saturday Night was a box office failure, earning only $10million against its $25-30 million budget.
