A 2019 romantic comedy film, Yesterday is directed by Danny Boyle and written by Richard Curtis, with a story credited to Jack Barth and Curtis. The movie features Himesh Patel as a struggling musician who finds himself in an alternate reality where only he recalls the Beatles, leading him to gain fame by performing their songs. Supporting cast includes Lily James, Joel Fry, Ed Sheeran, and Kate McKinnon.

Filming started in April in England, mainly in Norfolk and Halesworth, Suffolk. Additional scenes were shot at Wembley Stadium, the Principality Stadium, and Los Angeles. The production paid $10 million for Beatles music rights. Though no Beatles members participated, approval came from them or their families.

Production began as reported in March 2018. The film made its debut at the Tribeca Film Festival on 4 May 2019, followed by releases in the UK and US on 28 June through Universal Pictures. Critics gave it mixed reviews, earning $154.6 million globally against a $26 million budget.
