Spy thriller

A 2019 spy thriller film, The Red Sea Diving Resort, also titled Operation Brothers, was written and directed by Gideon Raff. Chris Evans plays an Israeli Mossad operative in the movie who leads a secret mission to save Ethiopian-Jewish refugees from Sudan and guide them to Israel. Supporting actors include Michael K. Williams, Haley Bennett, Alessandro Nivola, Michiel Huisman, Chris Chalk, Greg Kinnear, and Ben Kingsley.

The story draws inspiration from real-life operations conducted by Israel's Mossad during 1984-1985, known as Operation Moses and Operation Joshua. These missions involved secretly rescuing Jewish-Ethiopian people facing persecution in Sudan. The operation used an old vacation resort in Arous Village on the Red Sea coast near Port Sudan, approximately 43 miles north of the city.

The film debuted at the San Francisco Jewish Film Festival on July 28, 2019, followed by a release date of July 31, 2019 through Netflix. Reviews from critics were largely unfavorable, although viewers responded more favorably or neutrally.
