The Last Full Measure 2019
A 2019 American war drama film, The Last Full Measure was written and directed by Todd Robinson. The story centers on Scott Huffman, a fictional Pentagon employee, and various veterans working to secure the Medal of Honor for William H. Pitsenbarger, a U.S. Air Force Pararescueman who conducted helicopter rescue missions during the Vietnam War. The film is based on real events and features Sebastian Stan, Christopher Plummer, William Hurt, Ed Harris, Samuel L. Jackson, Jeremy Irvine, and Peter Fonda in its cast. It marked the final film role of Fonda, who passed away before release, and Plummer’s last screen appearance prior to his death in 2021, though this film was shot earlier than Knives Out, which came out first. Filming took place in the United States during March 2017, and it had its premiere in October 2019 in Westhampton Beach, New York. The film was distributed in the U.S. by Roadside Attractions on January 24, 2020, earning $3 million against a $20 million budget. The title originates from Abraham Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address, where he spoke of those who gave “the last full measure of devotion.”
