Guns Akimbo 2019
Guns Akimbo is a 2019 action comedy film written and directed by Jason Lei Howden. The movie features Daniel Radcliffe, Samara Weaving, Natasha Liu Bordizzo, Ned Dennehy, Grant Bowler, Edwin Wright, and Rhys Darby in leading roles. Set in a world where underground fighting has gained popularity through live-streamed deadly combat, the story follows a computer programmer who criticizes this trend. He is subsequently compelled to participate in the contests himself.
The film made its debut at the 2019 Toronto International Film Festival. It opened in the United States on 28 February 2020 under Saban Films, in New Zealand on 5 March 2020 through Madman Entertainment, and in Germany on 25 June 2020 via Leonine Distribution. Because of 19 pandemic-related theatre closures globally, Guns Akimbo became available for digital streaming less than three weeks after its theatrical release.
