Persona 5: The Phantom X is a 2025 role-playing video game developed by Black Wings Game Studio and published by Perfect World in China and Sega worldwide. It serves as a spin-off of Persona 5 (2016), which belongs to Atlus' Persona series and the broader Megami Tensei franchise.

The game merges social simulation, dungeon exploration, and turn-based combat, much like other entries in the Persona lineup. Set in modern-day Tokyo, it features characters who wield Personas—physical expressions of one’s psyche—that grow stronger through bonds formed during battles. The story centers on a high-school student known by the codename "Wonder," who tries to reclaim lost hopes and desires of humanity after nearly losing them himself. While pursuing this goal, he spends time boosting his character stats and building relationships with others, as well as exploring an alternate dimension called the Metaverse.

Development involved staff from Persona 5 and its enhanced version Persona 5 Royal, including series producer Kazuhisa Wada as project lead, artist Shigenori Soejima who designed the protagonist Wonder, and Ryota Kozuka responsible for the main theme. Characters from the city’s cognitive forms, along with Phantom Thieves of Hearts from Persona 5 and the Specialized Extracurricular Execution Squad from Persona 3, can be called upon in the Metaverse using a gacha system.

Upon its worldwide release, the game garnered positive feedback, especially for its gameplay, visuals, and narrative, which mirrored that of core Persona games. However, critics noted flaws in writing—particularly with an early-game villain—and criticized the initial reward structure compared to the Chinese version. The title was shortlisted for Best Mobile Game at The Game Awards 2025 and took home Mobile Game of the Year at the 29th Annual D.I.C.E. Awards.
