Players assume the role of an American engineer in 1980s during the Japanese asset price bubble, working for a Japanese corporation to build assembly systems for various electronic products. Similar to Zach Barth's prior works, Kaizen provides players with flexible sets of tools and commands to construct these production lines. Player solutions are evaluated through global leaderboards according to efficiency metrics determined by specific requirements. Coincidence was established by Zach Barth following the dissolution of Zachtronics.
