Destiny 2: Renegades is a mid-sized expansion for Destiny 2, a first-person shooter game created by Bungie. This represents the 10th and final expansion for the title, launching on December 2, 2025 across PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. It marked the second expansion for Year 8 of the game, known as the "Year of Prophecy", after The Edge of Fate released in July 2025.

The expansion features the player's Guardian alongside the Drifter, Eris Morn, Eido, and Praxic Order Warlock Aunor Mahal joining forces to oppose the growing Barant Imperium, a new Cabal faction led by former Guardian Dredgen Bael, now transformed into a villain. Throughout the story, players must navigate the consequences of The Edge of Fate prophecy and uncover the hidden motives of the Nine. The main characters operate independently from the Vanguard, setting up a base at Mars' Tharsis Cantina and taking on quests and large-scale threats in lawless regions across Mars, Venus, and Europa, leading to a climactic confrontation with Bael's plan to weaponize the galaxy.

Inspired by Star Wars, Bungie worked with Lucasfilm Games to shape both storylines and gear within the expansion, including the Praxic Blade, which is a Destiny 2s version of the lightsaber. The update introduced fresh gameplay elements such as new missions, Player versus Environment (PvE) areas, Player versus Player (PvP) maps, player equipment, weapons, and a new dungeon. It also brought back Venus missions, excluding the Vault of Glass raid originally from the first Destiny (2014), which was included as an extra activity during Year 4's Season of the Splicer.

Renegades launched Season: Lawless for Year 8, with the season’s major update, Monument of Triumph, arriving in June 2026. Originally scheduled for March and named Shadow & Order, this update was delayed and rebranded due to significant changes in scope and content. In Monument of Triumph, a commemoration takes place honoring the Guardian's victories over time. The celestial Traveler returns to rest above the Last City, stabilizing Earth’s recovery from years of warfare, while allies address their individual issues separately. The new Emissary of the Nine, Lodi, tasks the Guardian with cleansing corruption caused by the Nine throughout the game, and also prevents a final act by Dredgen Bael aimed at creating weapons capable of permanently ending lightbearers.

At the time of its announcement, Monument of Triumph was presented as the final content update for Destiny 2 overall, incorporating material intended for future releases, restoring previously removed features, and adding elements based on community feedback. These included the Sparrow Racing League from the original Destiny (2014) and the mobile game Destiny: Rising (2025). By 2026, Bungie had been reporting financial losses under parent company Sony, prompting Sony to cease further development of Destiny 2 with this release, although it would remain online and playable. Bungie redirected its focus toward other titles. However, in September 2026, Bungie revealed an update detailing plans to restore all previously removed content in the game, along with new additions in development.
