A 2024 animated adventure comedy film, The Garfield Movie is based on the comic strip created by Jim Davis. This third theatrical adaptation and sixth overall in the Garfield series follows the original 2009 film Garfield's Pet Force. Directed by Mark Dindal and written by Paul A. Kaplan, Mark Torgove, and David Reynolds, the movie features voice work from Chris Pratt as Garfield and Samuel L. Jackson as his father, Vic. Additional voices include Hannah Waddingham, Ving Rhames, Nicholas Hoult, Cecily Strong, Harvey Guillén, Brett Goldstein, Bowen Yang, and Snoop Dogg. The story centers on Garfield reconnecting with his long-lost father, a street cat named Vic, before being drawn into an urgent quest due to threats from a dangerous feline that Vic knew.

Development started at Alcon Entertainment in 2016. November 2018 was confirmed as director, and pre-production commenced shortly after. Casting for Garfield took place by 2021 with Chris Pratt signed on, while the rest of the cast joined in the following year. The animation was handled by DNEG Animation, and John Debney, who often collaborates with Mark Dindal, composed the soundtrack.

The film made its debut at Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles on May 19, 2024, followed by a U.S. release through Sony Pictures Releasing on May 24. Critics gave the movie negative feedback, although it performed well financially, earning $257 million against a $60 million budget. It received a nomination at the 2024 Kids' Choice Awards for Favorite Animated Movie. A sequel is currently in development.
