Don't Worry Darling is a 2022 American psychological thriller film with music by John Powell. Olivia Wilde directed the movie, which she co-wrote with Katie Silberman. The screenplay was based on a spec script by Carey Van Dyke and Shane Van Dyke. Florence Pugh stars alongside Harry Styles, Gemma Chan, KiKi Layne, Nick Kroll, Chris Pine, and Wilde herself. The story centers on a housewife living in a perfect company town who starts to suspect the man in charge is hiding something dangerous from the residents.

Following the success of Wilde’s first film Booksmart in 2019, multiple studios competed for her next project. New Line Cinema ultimately secured the rights. Florence Pugh was cast in April 2020, and Harry Styles joined in September after Shia LaBeouf left the production during early filming. Principal photography occurred in Los Angeles between October 2020 and February 2021. The movie generated significant media attention due to reported issues including LaBeouf’s exit and alleged tensions between Wilde and Pugh.

The film made its debut at the 79th Venice International Film Festival on September 5, 2022, before being released in U.S. theaters by Warner Bros. Pictures on September 23. Critics gave it mixed reviews and earned $87.6 million at the box office.
