Harold and the Purple Crayon is a 2024 American live-action animated fantasy comedy film that marks Carlos Saldanha's first time directing live-action. The screenplay was written by David Guion and Michael Handelman, adapting the 1955 children's book by Crockett Johnson. This movie blends live-action with animation, featuring Zachary Levi, Lil Rel Howery, Benjamin Bottani, Jemaine Clement, Tanya Reynolds, Alfred Molina, and Zooey Deschanel in starring roles. The story follows Harold, who comes to life after being drawn from his book into the real world, where he learns about life's realities.

The film was produced by John Davis under the banner of Davis Entertainment. It had its premiere in Culver City, Los Angeles, on July 21, 2024, before opening in U.S. theaters through Sony Pictures Releasing on August 2 via its Columbia Pictures label. Critics responded negatively to the film, and it failed commercially, earning $32.2 million against a $40 million production cost. It was also nominated for a Golden Raspberry Award for Worst Actor, given to Levi.
