Divorce in the Black 2024
A 2024 American psychological drama thriller film, Divorce in the Black, marketed as Tyler Perry's Divorce in the Black, was directed by Tyler Perry and released on Amazon Prime Video. The movie features Meagan Good in the role of Ava, a young bank employee whose seemingly ideal marriage begins to fall apart when her husband suddenly departs without reason.
This film is included in Tyler Perry's multi-picture agreement with Amazon Studios, after earlier works with Netflix including “A Jazzman’s Blues,” “A Madea Homecoming” and “A Fall from Grace.”
Principal filming started in 2023, and the project was officially introduced by Amazon MGM Studios during early 2024. It gained online interest due to its cast and Tyler Perry's appearance in a dramatic role outside of his Madea series. Also starring are Cory Hardrict, Joseph Lee Anderson, Taylor Polidore, Shannon Wallace, Richard Lawson, and Debbi Morgan.
The film premiered on July 11, 2024 and was met with poor reviews from critics.
