The movie was produced by Jacomelli, Taylor and Zaina Taibi, and features John Schwab, Britni Camacho, Sydney Brumfield, Travis Lincoln Cox, Felix Merback, Brandon Brown, and Wyomi Reed in starring roles. The plot centers on a woman who struggles to stay alive while being hunted by a corrupt small-town sheriff whose authority fuels his brutality.

The film made its debut at the Neuchâtel International Fantastic Film Festival in Switzerland on July 9, 2024, followed by a showing at the Cinequest Film & Creativity Festival in February 2025 in the United States. It was later released in the UK on October 7, 2024 through Plaion, and was brought to life by Beast Productions, Fastback Films, and Beast Los Angeles. Additionally, Blood Star has been chosen for screenings at several European festivals including Grimmfest, Splat, Terror Molins, Fantasy Filmfest, and the Paris International Fantastic Film Festival.
