A 2018 American supernatural horror film, Slender Man is directed by Sylvain White and written by David Birke. The movie features Joey King, Julia Goldani Telles, Taylor Richardson, Jaz Sinclair, Annalise Basso, and Alex Fitzalan, with Javier Botet portraying the titular figure. This film is based on a character originally created in June 2009 that gained widespread attention through creepypasta culture. It depicts a group of teenagers who suffer torment after one of their own vanishes, becoming targeted by the Slender Man.

Work on the project started in May 2016, when Birke was brought on to write the screenplay. Nearly a year later, most of the cast had committed to the production. Principal photography occurred during June and July 2017 in Massachusetts. The film's development and reception were influenced by the 2014 Slender Man stabbing incident in Waukesha County, Wisconsin. In response to public concerns, Screen Gems required the producers to keep a PG-13 rating, which led to removal of certain scenes—some of which had already appeared in trailers—causing inconsistencies within the final version.

Slender Man premiered in the United States on August 10, 2018 through Sony Pictures Releasing. It achieved commercial success, earning $51.7 million compared to its $10 million budget. Critics, however, gave it poor reviews, criticizing its storyline, acting, dialogue, and scare factor. Sinclair received a Golden Raspberry Award nomination for Worst Supporting Actress due to her role in the movie.
