Violent Night is a 2022 American Christmas action comedy film featuring David Harbour as Santa Claus, portrayed as an immortal Viking warrior who has transformed into the traditional Christmas character. In the movie, he battles mercenaries who have kidnapped a wealthy family and are targeting money stored in their vault, despite these mercenaries appearing on his Naughty List. The film was directed by Tommy Wirkola and written by Pat Casey and Josh Miller, also including John Leguizamo, Alex Hassell, and Beverly D'Angelo in the cast.
The film premiered globally at the New York Comic Con on October 7, 2022. It was distributed in the United States by Universal Pictures on December 2, 2022. Critics responded positively to the film, which earned $76.6 million worldwide. A follow-up titled Violent Night 2 is scheduled for release in December 2026.
