Doom: The Dark Ages is a 2025 first-person shooter video game developed by id Software and published by Bethesda Softworks. It serves as the eighth primary installment in the Doom series, coming after Doom Eternal (2020). This title acts as a prequel to Doom (2016), depicting the Doom Slayer's struggle against a demonic incursion on Argent D'Nur.

id Software started development on Doom: The Dark Ages after finishing Doom Eternal’s post-launch content, The Ancient Gods, in 2021, with full production beginning by August 2022. The game was revealed in June 2024 and launched on PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S on May 15, 2025, receiving favorable reviews from critics who highlighted its combat mechanics and environment. An expansion titled Revelations debuted on July 7, 2026.
