Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 2025
Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is a 2025 first-person shooter video game developed by Treyarch and Raven Software and published by Activision. It marks the twenty-second main entry in the Call of Duty franchise and the eighth within the Black Ops sub-series, succeeding Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 from 2024. The game is set in 2035, and its narrative—available in co-op or single-player modes—centers on a JSOC team led by David Mason investigating the unexpected reappearance of the late terrorist Raul Menendez. Like earlier entries in the series, Black Ops 7 also features multiplayer gameplay and a cooperative Zombies mode.
Work on Black Ops 7 proceeded simultaneously with that of Black Ops 6, as both titles were approved for production at the same time. The game’s promotional campaign started in June 2025 when a cinematic trailer was shown during the 2025 Xbox Games Showcase; a full presentation occurred on August 19 at Gamescom. Black Ops 7 launched on November 14, 2025 across PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. Critics offered mixed feedback, and players responded negatively, leading to review bombing on Metacritic. The game ranked fifth in U.S. sales for 2025, marking the lowest end-of-year performance for a Call of Duty title since 2008.
