Escape from Ever After 2026
Escape from Ever After is a 2026 role-playing video game developed by Sleepy Castle Studio and published by HypeTrain Digital. The game draws influence from early Paper Mario titles and centers on Flynt Buckler, a fairy tale protagonist who learns his storybook realm has been seized by Ever After Inc., a real-world corporation. To combat this threat, he infiltrates the company as an employee in order to dismantle it from within. Released on January 23, 2026 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X and Series S, the game was created primarily by a two-person development team. It was initially funded via Kickstarter in 2022 under the name Flynt Buckler Wakes the Sleepy Castle before being restructured and renamed during production. Critics responded positively to the title, highlighting its humor, writing quality, and combat mechanics, while drawing comparisons to the Paper Mario series.
