007 First Light 2026
007 First Light is an action-adventure video game released in 2026 by IO Interactive. The title is based on the James Bond franchise and features a story inspired by works from Ian Fleming, as well as the film series that starred the character. It follows the early life of James Bond, showing how he achieves his 00 status.
After the poor performance of 007 Legends in 2012, Activision lost its non-exclusive license to create James Bond games, leading to a long gap in adaptations. IO Interactive announced the project in November 2020. Production began after the completion of Hitman 3 in 2021, and the game was fully unveiled in June 2025.
It launched on PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S on May 27, 2026, followed by a Nintendo Switch 2 release on March 18, 2027. Critics responded positively, praising the gameplay, combat, story, and Patrick Gibson's portrayal of Bond. By August 2026, the game had sold 4 million copies.
