The Dark Pictures Anthology: The Devil in Me is a 2022 interactive drama and survival horror video game developed by Supermassive Games and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment. It represents the fourth entry in The Dark Pictures Anthology. The game takes place within a contemporary recreation of H. H. Holmes's "Murder Castle," located on an island in Lake Michigan. A documentary film crew becomes trapped inside, forced to evade a maze of lethal traps created by a copycat serial killer. Returning elements from the series include quick time events, two single-player and two multiplayer modes, and collectibles that unlock glimpses into potential future scenarios. The game diverges from past titles by enabling greater freedom of movement, such as running, jumping, and climbing, in addition to tool-based puzzles and an inventory system for characters. It uses a multilinear structure where player decisions can reshape story paths and influence character relationships; some selections result in permanent character deaths.

Inspiration for the concept came from the legend surrounding Holmes, while horror components were influenced by iconic films like Psycho, The Shining, Saw, Halloween, and Friday the 13th. During motion capture sessions, physical sets were constructed to support the new movement mechanics. Jessie Buckley portrays investigative journalist Kate Wilder and was promoted as the central female role. Jason Graves, a frequent collaborator with Supermassive on this series, created the musical score using mechanical tones and classical pieces to match the killer's character.

Released across PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S on 18 November 2022, The Devil in Me received a mixture of critical feedback. Reviewers appreciated the Murder Castle environment, the disturbing trap designs, and sound design, although they criticized the implementation of new exploration features, slow pacing, and several technical issues. A teaser trailer at the conclusion of The Devil in Me revealed the fifth installment, Directive 8020, which launched on 12 May 2026.
