Sifu 2022
Sifu is a 2022 beat 'em up video game developed and published by Sloclap. The game takes place in China, where players control the child of a martial arts school's sifu (master) who aims to avenge their father's death. Each time the main character dies, they respawn and grow older, unlocking stronger attacks but losing health points. If the player character becomes too aged, they die permanently, forcing the player to restart the level from the beginning and at the same age as the first attempt.
Sifu was launched for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Windows on 8 February 2022, Nintendo Switch on 8 November 2022, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S on 28 March 2023, and iOS and Android on 12 October 2026. Critics responded positively to the game, praising its combat system, settings, and narrative. By May 2025, it had sold over 4 million copies. A television series titled Sifu: It Takes a Life premiered on Amazon Prime Video in December 2024.
