Gotham Knights 2022
Gotham Knights is a 2022 action role-playing video game developed by WB Games Montréal and published by Warner Bros. Games. Set in the DC universe, the title draws inspiration from the Batman: Gotham Knights comic series and features the characters Nightwing, Batgirl, Robin, and Red Hood as they work to bring order back to Gotham City following Batman's death. The narrative centers on these heroes uncovering the truth behind their mentor’s passing while becoming involved in a long-standing struggle between two hidden groups: the Court of Owls and the League of Shadows.
The game uses third-person gameplay where players control each hero’s unique movement and fighting skills to overcome foes and navigate Gotham. Characters can explore the open world, engage in missions, and earn experience to improve their abilities and gear. Additional content is unlocked through optional side quests and collectibles. An online co-op feature supports two players working together through the single-player story, each with their own progress.
Released on October 21, 2022 for PlayStation 5, Microsoft Windows, and Xbox Series X/S, versions for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One were announced but later cancelled. Critics gave the game a mixed reception, pointing out flaws in its core gameplay and storyline, though it was praised for its cooperative mode and character development.
