CNN This Morning 2022
A 2022 American morning television series, CNN This Morning, originally aired on CNN. The show debuted on November 1, 2022, replacing New Day as CNN's morning program. It emerged from programming adjustments overseen by interim CNN president Chris Licht. Due to contract obligations, the program also broadcast simultaneously on HLN, taking over Morning Express with Robin Meade.
Initially hosted by Don Lemon, Poppy Harlow, and Kaitlan Collins from CNN's New York studios, the lineup changed beginning in April 2023 after Lemon was let go. Collins left in May 2023 to anchor the new CNN primetime program The Source. Their roles were filled by rotating co-anchors until August 2023, when former CNN White House correspondent Phil Mattingly became Harlow’s permanent partner.
In February 2024, new CNN CEO Mark Thompson announced the cancellation of CNN This Morning; its last broadcast occurred on February 23, 2024. The daytime segment of CNN News Central moved into the show’s previous time slot starting February 26. The CNN This Morning name was then transferred to CNN's early-morning news program Early Start. CNN's weekend morning show, inherited from New Day, continued using the CNN This Morning label.
