MLS on Apple TV 2023
Apple TV hosts MLS on Apple TV, a Major League Soccer presentation distributed by Apple TV (formerly known as Apple TV+). The platform launched during the 2023 season and includes all MLS games, Leagues Cup events, certain MLS Next and MLS Next Pro contests, studio shows, and additional video content such as replays and original series.
Apple Inc. secured global over-the-top streaming rights for the league in 2023 through a 10-year media agreement. As part of this deal, regional broadcast blackout restrictions were removed, allowing all matches to stream globally without limitations.
Initially, MLS content was offered exclusively through a separate subscription service named MLS Season Pass. This was distinct from Apple TV+, although Apple TV subscribers received discounts. Some games were available to Apple TV+ users, and select matches were also accessible free of charge on the Apple TV app and other platforms.
A non-exclusive rights package was sold to Fox Sports in the U.S. and Bell Media in Canada to preserve linear television presence while promoting the streaming service.
By 2025, MLS started offering MLS Season Pass through selected U.S. cable providers. For the 2026 season, Apple ended the standalone MLS Season Pass subscription and merged all MLS content into the Apple TV platform.
