Star Wars: Skeleton Crew 2024
Star Wars: Skeleton Crew is a 2026 American television miniseries produced for the streaming platform Disney+. The series was created by Jon Watts and Christopher Ford, and it forms part of the Star Wars universe, occurring after the events of Return of the Jedi (1983). It shares the same timeline as The Mandalorian and other related shows. The story follows four young individuals who are separated from their home world and must navigate through strange alien worlds and perilous situations in search of their way back.
Jude Law leads the cast alongside Ravi Cabot-Conyers, Ryan Kiera Armstrong, Kyriana Kratter, Robert Timothy Smith, and Nick Frost. Watts pitched an Amblin Entertainment-style coming-of-age tale to Lucasfilm, and he was working with Ford on the project by early 2022. The series was officially unveiled at Star Wars Celebration, where Law’s involvement was announced. Principal photography commenced in September 2022 in Los Angeles and concluded by late January 2023. The young performers were revealed in April 2023. Kathleen Kennedy, Jon Favreau, and Dave Filoni returned as executive producers from The Mandalorian.
The series debuted on Disney+ on December 2, 2024, with new episodes released each week until January 14, 2025. Critics responded favorably to the show. It earned seventeen nominations at the 4th Children's and Family Emmy Awards, securing four wins, including Outstanding Young Teen Series.
