Crime drama

Ripley is a limited American neo-noir psychological thriller miniseries directed by Steven Zaillian and based on Patricia Highsmith's 1955 novel The Talented Mr. Ripley. The eight-part series stars Andrew Scott as Tom Ripley, Dakota Fanning as Marge Sherwood, and Johnny Flynn as Dickie Greenleaf. It marks the first time Highsmith's work has been adapted into a television series.

Originally scheduled to air on Showtime, the show was transferred to Netflix in February 2023. It premiered on April 4, 2024 and garnered critical acclaim for its writing, direction, production quality, and acting, especially Scott’s performance as Ripley. At the 76th Primetime Emmy Awards, Ripley earned 14 nominations including Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series and acting nods for Scott and Fanning. The series won four Emmys, including Outstanding Directing for a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for Zaillian. It also received a Peabody Award.
