Dora is a children's animated television series that debuted on Paramount+ on April 12, 2024. It was developed by Chris Gifford and Valerie Walsh Valdes and serves as a reboot of the earlier Dora the Explorer show, which ran from 2000 to 2019. This marks the fourth series in the Dora the Explorer franchise. Just 12 days after its initial release, Paramount+ decided to order a second season, which began on September 13, 2024. The program later appeared on Nickelodeon on August 5, 2024.
Season three launched on July 2, 2025, coinciding with the release of the 2nd live-action Dora the Explorer film Dora and the Search for Sol Dorado. On that same day, a special titled Dora & Diego: Rainforest Rescues also aired. Season four premiered on December 19, 2025.
On November 12, 2025, news broke that this series, along with Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, would be discontinued due to corporate changes from the Paramount-Skydance merger. Although season four was released on December 19, 2025 and a fifth season was confirmed as the last, reports in June 2026 indicated that Paramount had overturned the cancellation and ordered a sixth season.
