Dead Boy Detectives is an American supernatural horror detective comedy-drama television series created by Steve Yockey using the DC Comics characters designed by Neil Gaiman and Matt Wagner. The show features George Rexstrew, Jayden Revri, Kassius Nelson, Briana Cuoco, Ruth Connell, Yuyu Kitamura and Jenn Lyon. It tells the story of Charles Rowland and Edwin Payne, who chose to remain on Earth rather than proceed to the afterlife, and now solve crimes involving supernatural elements.

Development started in September 2021 when HBO Max commissioned a pilot for a series based on the Dead Boy Detectives comic books. The project received approval from April 2022. Later, it was transferred to Netflix in February 2023. Neil Gaiman confirmed that the show exists within the same universe as The Sandman, with Kirby and Donna Preston returning in their roles as Death and Despair respectively.

The series debuted on Netflix during April 25, 2024. Critics responded favorably, noting strong writing, direction, tone, acting and visual style. By August 2024, the show was discontinued after only one season.
