This production by Mattel Television and Corus Entertainment's Nelvana restarts the Barney franchise, following its initial TV show Barney & Friends, which originated from the direct-to-video Barney & the Backyard Gang. While the earlier version used live-action, Barney's World uses animation. The show targets toddlers aged two to six.
