The Studio 2025
The Studio is an American satirical cringe comedy television series conceived by Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, Peter Huyck, Alex Gregory, and Frida Perez. It features Rogen in the role of a beleaguered Hollywood studio chief attempting to reconcile corporate pressures with personal filmmaking ambitions. Catherine O'Hara (during her last screen appearance prior to passing), Ike Barinholtz, Chase Sui Wonders, and Kathryn Hahn take on supporting roles. The show debuted on Apple TV with its initial two episodes on March 26, 2025, with Rogen and Goldberg overseeing direction for all episodes. The program has been ordered for a second season.
The Studio garnered praise for its direction, acting, visual style, comedy, and critique of Hollywood culture. Audiences and reviewers have emphasized its frequent utilization of extended takes alongside the inclusion of notable celebrity appearances in each installment. During its inaugural season, the series garnered 23 nods at the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards, establishing it as the most-recognized debut comedy in history and equaling the mark for highest number of nods for a single comedy season. It ultimately secured 13 Emmys from those submissions (including Outstanding Comedy Series and Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for Rogen), surpassing previous records for most awards won by a comedy show within one season before being surpassed by the first season of Widow's Bay the following year. The season also obtained the Television Critics Association Award for Outstanding Achievement in Comedy and Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy at the 83rd Golden Globe Awards.
