Alien: Earth represents the inaugural television production within the Alien franchise, originating from American science fiction horror genre, authored by Noah Hawley. The show unfolds two years prior to the 1979 cinematic release Alien. Principal actors include Sydney Chandler, Alex Lawther, Essie Davis, Samuel Blenkin, Babou Ceesay, Adarsh Gourav, and Timothy Olyphant.

Initial development commenced during early 2019, with Ridley Scott serving as executive producer for FX on Hulu. Pre-production activities initiated by April 2023, followed by Chandler's appointment to the lead role in the subsequent month, while additional casting occurred between July and November of that year. Principal photography faced postponement because of the COVID-19 outbreak, yet commenced in July 2023 before halting in August because of the 2023 SAG-AFTRA labor dispute. Production restarted in April 2024 and concluded in July of the same year.

The series debuted on FX and FX on Hulu within the United States, while airing on Disney+ throughout international markets on August 12, 2025. A second season was confirmed for November 2025, with production expected to initiate during mid-to-late-2026 or early-2027.
