House of David is an American Biblical historical drama television series. It was created, co-directed, and co-written by filmmaker Jon Erwin for Amazon Prime Video, and it follows the life of King David, a key figure in Judaism, Christianity and Islam. The story is mainly set in the Kingdom of Israel during 1000 BC, showing David's progression from his early role as a shepherd under servitude to his confrontation with Goliath and later his ascension to kingship, establishing the House of David after the House of Saul. Michael Iskander portrays David in the series, joined by Ali Suliman, Stephen Lang, Ayelet Zurer, Indy Lewis, Ethan Kai, and Martyn Ford.

The production was handled by The Wonder Project, a studio managed by Erwin and Kelly Merryman Hoogstraten, working with Amazon MGM Studios, and it is distributed globally by Lionsgate. The show’s creators have stated that the series targets a wide audience rather than just religious viewers.

It debuted on February 27, 2025, with the initial three episodes released on Amazon Prime Video, followed by weekly installments for the rest of the episodes. Critics responded positively to its high production standards and respectful treatment of Jewish traditions and biblical content. In the first 17 days, the series attracted 22 million viewers, prompting Amazon Prime to order a second season. Season 2 launched on October 5, 2025 exclusively for subscribers of the Wonder Project add-on, with general access to all Prime members on March 27, 2026.

‘House of David’ has been confirmed for a third and final season. ‘House of David’ Renewed for Season 3 at Amazon.
