Paranormal is an Egyptian supernatural-horror drama series that adapts Ahmed Khaled Tawfik's popular Ma Waraa Al Tabiaa book series. The show debuted on Netflix on November 5, 2020. This production marks Netflix's initial Egyptian Arabic-language original series and represents the third Middle Eastern Netflix production after Jinn. The series was directed by Amr Salama and Majid Al Ansari, bringing late author Ahmed Khaled Tawfik's work to television. Leading roles are played by Ahmed Amin, Reem Abd El Kader, Samma Ibrahim, Razane Jammal, and Aya Samaha. Within its opening days, the show gained strong viewership, rising rapidly to become Egypt's most watched program in the "Top Ten in Egypt Today" ranking. Paranormal continues to hold the number one spot in Egypt and ranked among the world's top ten most-watched shows in various nations. It also became the first Egyptian production to enter Netflix's Worldwide Top 10 chart, reaching position #7, although it remained in the top 10 for just 8 days.
