Into the Unknown: Making Frozen 2 2020
Into the Unknown: Making Frozen 2 is a 2020 documentary series focusing on Disney's 2019 animated film Frozen 2. The six-part series documents the final year of Frozen 2's development through the eyes of its production team and voice actors. Content covers story development, particularly the reworking of "Show Yourself," various animation roles, songwriting and orchestral arrangements, and post-production work. Director Megan Harding, who previously worked on a 2014 documentary about the 2013 film Frozen, created this content for Disney+ streaming service.
Production company Lincoln Square Productions handled the project. Harding intended to portray the filmmaking process authentically, with crew spending 115 days filming. Primary locations included New York City where work took place and Los Angeles where Frozen 2 was made at Walt Disney Animation Studios, plus some home-based filming. The series garnered favorable reviews from critics.
