Dear Class of 2020 2020
Dear Class of 2020 represents a 2020 online event streamed live on June 7, 2020 on YouTube. This virtual commencement featured speeches and performances from notable figures addressing graduating students at all levels whose real ceremonies were cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The program also included references to the George Floyd protests following the deaths of George Floyd and Ahmaud Arbery, along with the shooting of Breonna Taylor. Initially planned for June 6, the event moved to the following day to prevent conflict with the memorial service for George Floyd held in Raeford, North Carolina on that date.
