The Mysterious Benedict Society is a 2021 American mystery adventure television series adapted from the children's books by Trenton Lee Stewart. Tony Hale plays Mr. Benedict in the show, a character who assembles four young individuals to prevent a worldwide crisis. The same actor also takes on the role of Benedict’s twin brother, Mr. Curtain, who established the school that the children must infiltrate. The initial season launched on Disney+ on June 25, 2021 and contained eight episodes. In September 2021, the production received approval for a second season. That season began with two episodes on October 25, 2022, airing first on Disney Channel and then on Disney+ the next day. By January 2023, the series was discontinued after only two seasons. The program was taken off Disney+ on May 26, 2023, part of Disney’s cost reduction strategy under CEO Bob Iger. Nevertheless, viewers in Australia can still access the series through the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, which acquired the streaming rights in 2025.
