The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers is an American sports comedy-drama television series adapted from the 1992 film written by Steve Brill. Brill, Josh Goldsmith, and Cathy Yuspa created the show for Disney+, acting as developers while ABC Signature and Brillstein Entertainment handled production. Brill wrote the script, with Goldsmith and Yuspa serving as showrunners.
Lauren Graham, Brady Noon, and Emilio Estevez appear in the series. By January 2018, ABC had started working on a television version of The Mighty Ducks franchise, with Brill assigned to write it. The release date was set for Disney+ in November 2018. Production began in February 2020 and concluded in June 2020. In August 2020, filming officially started after Disney TV Studios reached an agreement with British Columbia unions concerning the ongoing COVID-19 situation, which included testing cast and crew members. The show premiered on March 26, 2021. In August 2021, it received a renewal for a second season that launched on September 28, 2022. Disney cancelled the series after two seasons in February 2023.
The series was also taken down from Disney+ on May 26, 2023 during a Disney+ and Hulu content removal campaign as part of a larger cost reduction strategy under Disney CEO Bob Iger.
