The Masked Singer Japan is a Japanese reality singing competition series derived from the South Korean format King of Mask Singer. This show began airing on September 3, 2021 in Japan on Amazon Prime Video. Celebrities participate by performing songs while fully obscured by elaborate costumes and masks hiding their faces. Panelists attempt to identify these masked performers using hints given during each episode. The program uses the same basic concept as its Korean origin, featuring mystery and entertainment through concealed celebrity appearances and audience guessing games.
