NFL on Nickelodeon 2021
NFL on Nickelodeon refers to the branding of National Football League (NFL) broadcasts made by CBS Sports and shown on the American pay TV network Nickelodeon. These broadcasts mirror the CBS feed but use different graphics, play-by-play commentary, additional features, guest appearances, visual effects, and channel identity. Aimed at young viewers and families, they often include characters from Nickelodeon shows like SpongeBob SquarePants and Dora the Explorer, along with presenters and correspondents from NFL Slimetime. From 2020 onward, Nickelodeon has aired one or two games per season under this format.
The initial broadcast occurred during the 2020 NFL playoffs. Nickelodeon conducted a limited experimental simulcast in cooperation with CBS for the Chicago Bears–New Orleans Saints Wild Card match. This represented the first instance of a major live sports event being shown on the channel. Due to favorable feedback from critics and audiences, Nickelodeon declared that the simulcast would return in 2021 for a Wild Card playoff game between the San Francisco 49ers and Dallas Cowboys.
During 2022–2023, the format was applied to Christmas Day games. Later during the 2023 season, it also covered Super Bowl LVIII. The latest game shown on Nickelodeon took place in January 2025 as a Wild Card match.
