A fantasy adventure series in English, Theodosia originates from children's novels by Robin LaFevers and was produced by ZDF Studios and Cottonwood Media. The show made its debut at the 2021 MIPCOM event. Its initial season launched in the United States on HBO Max on 10 March 2022, then aired on CBBC on 25 April and Globoplay on 21 June 2022. Later, it appeared in Portugal on Biggs and SIC K.
The series received renewal for a second season, with the first half of thirteen episodes released on BBC iPlayer on 21 January 2024. The second set of thirteen episodes followed on 05 May 2024.
