The Legend of Vox Machina 2022
A 2026 American adult animated fantasy television series, The Legend of Vox Machina, debuted on Amazon Prime Video in January 28, 2022. This show originates from the initial campaign of the Dungeons & Dragons web series Critical Role, created by Metapigeon, Titmouse, Inc., and Amazon MGM Studios. The cast includes Laura Bailey, Taliesin Jaffe, Ashley Johnson, Matthew Mercer, Liam O'Brien, Marisha Ray, Sam Riegel, and Travis Willingham, all returning from their original roles.
Twelve episodes make up the first season; the initial ten were financed through a Kickstarter campaign. Before its release, Amazon committed to a second season in November 2019, which began on January 20, 2023. In October 2022, prior to season two's start, Amazon extended support for a third season launching on October 3, 2024. The same month saw the announcement of a fourth season, premiering on June 3, 2026. During July 2025, Amazon confirmed a fifth and final season.
Critics and viewers responded positively, noting strong animation quality, comedic elements, voice performances, action scenes, scriptwriting, and loyalty to the original web series. A follow-up show, The Mighty Nein, started on November 19, 2025 and reflects Critical Role second campaign.
