The First Lady 2022
The First Lady is an American anthology drama television series written by Aaron Cooley and broadcast on Showtime starting April 17, 2022. Starring Michelle Pfeiffer, Viola Davis, and Gillian Anderson along with other actors, it depicts the personal and family experiences of three American first ladies: Eleanor Roosevelt, Betty Ford, and Michelle Obama. Critics gave the show mixed feedback, complimenting acting, costumes, sets, and subject matter while faulting its rhythm and storyline development. After only one season concluded in August 2022, the series was discontinued. Initially airing on certain PBS affiliates, it later became available through syndication by American Public Television on October 1, 2024.
