Studio 666 is a 2022 American comedy horror film that follows the Foo Fighters as they relocate to a haunted estate for album recording. Directed by B. J. McDonnell, the movie uses a screenplay written by Jeff Buhler and Rebecca Hughes, with story credits going to Dave Grohl. The band members star alongside each other, including Nate Mendel making his cinematic debut, Pat Smear, Taylor Hawkins, Chris Shiflett, and Rami Jaffee all appearing in their respective first film roles.
Whitney Cummings, Leslie Grossman, Will Forte, Jenna Ortega, and Jeff Garlin join the ensemble cast. This marks the first non-documentary work featuring the Foo Fighters, though they had previously been the focus of the 2011 film Foo Fighters: Back and Forth and the 2014 TV series Foo Fighters: Sonic Highways. The theatrical release in the United States occurred on February 25, 2022 through Open Road Films and Briarcliff Entertainment. Critics responded with mixed reviews.
