Falling for Christmas 2022
Falling for Christmas is a 2022 American Christmas romantic comedy film. Lindsay Lohan plays a spoiled heiress who loses her memory after a skiing accident and ends up in the care of a lodge owner widower during the holiday season. The movie was directed by Janeen Damian in her first time behind the camera, based on a screenplay written by Jeff Bonnett and Ron Oliver. Supporting cast members include Chord Overstreet, George Young, Jack Wagner, and Olivia Perez.
This role marked Lohan’s return to a major production after more than ten years, following personal struggles with addiction and legal troubles. Brad Krevoy and Michael Damian were the producers for the film, which was initially announced in May 2021. Principal photography took place in Utah starting in early November 2021 and concluded the next month. Lohan, her sister Aliana, and Overstreet contributed songs to the soundtrack that were included in the album.
The movie premiered on November 10, 2022, distributed by Netflix, after a special fan screening event in New York City the day prior. Critics and publications such as Rotten Tomatoes recognized it as one of the top Christmas films ever made. It achieved one of the strongest opening weekends for a Netflix original film released in 2022.
