Bros 2022
Bros is a 2022 American romantic comedy film featuring Billy Eichner and Luke Macfarlane as two gay men living in Manhattan who struggle with commitment yet find themselves attracted to one another. Directed by Nicholas Stoller, the film uses a screenplay he co-wrote with Eichner and is produced by Stoller, Judd Apatow, and Josh Church. It was made under Universal Pictures with a budget of $22 million and represents one of the first gay romantic comedies from a major studio to star an openly LGBTQ principal cast.
The film debuted at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 9, 2022. Universal invested between $30–40 million in promoting it and released it in U.S. theaters on September 30, 2022. Critics responded positively, though the movie failed commercially, earning $14 million worldwide compared to its $22 million production cost.
